01Who we are

Main Street Trades ("we", "us", "our") operates mainstreettrades.com and the associated private Discord community. This Privacy Policy applies to your interactions with our website, our Discord server (insofar as we control data inside it), and any related email communications.

02Information we collect

Account & membership information

When you join a paid membership, our billing partner PayPal processes your subscription and shares with us: your name, email address, country, and the plan and status of your subscription. We also collect your Discord username/ID directly via Discord OAuth at the start of checkout so we can grant the right role to the right account. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account number — PayPal handles that data directly.

Communications

If you email us, subscribe to our newsletter, or fill out a form, we receive the contents of that communication and any contact information you provide.

Inside the Discord

Inside the Discord community, Discord (not us) controls the underlying platform data: your messages, voice metadata, profile, and presence. Our moderators may view messages and may keep records of moderation actions (warnings, kicks, bans).

Website usage

Our website uses standard server logs and a limited privacy-respecting analytics provider to count visits, identify popular pages, and detect abuse. Logs include IP address, user-agent, referring URL, and timestamp. We do not run cross-site behavioral ad pixels.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality (e.g. remembering that you dismissed a banner) and for aggregate analytics. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising.

Provide and operate your membership (granting Discord access, handling billing events, customer support)
Communicate with you about your account, membership changes, and important updates
Send optional newsletters and product updates, if you opt in
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and chargeback fraud
Improve the Service based on aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

04Service providers we share with

We share the minimum information necessary with vetted service providers who help us operate. Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with the data.

05What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your contact information with unaffiliated marketers.
We do not run third-party behavioral ad pixels on this site.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

06Data retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations (typically up to seven years for financial records). Communications and support tickets are retained for as long as needed to provide service and resolve disputes.

07Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your information, subject to legal retention obligations
Object to or restrict certain processing
Port your data in a portable format
Opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have additional rights, including the right to know the categories of personal information we collect and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EEA / UK residents. Our legal bases for processing under GDPR/UK GDPR are: (a) performance of a contract — operating your membership, (b) legitimate interest — protecting and improving the Service, (c) consent — optional communications, and (d) legal obligation — tax and compliance. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

08International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on appropriate safeguards (including provider-level standard contractual clauses) where required.

09Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and provider-side security controls. No internet system is perfectly secure. If you become aware of a vulnerability, please contact us at the address below.

10Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. If we make material changes, we will provide notice on the site or by email before the change takes effect.
